Athens, March 7, 2016

The Hellenic Initiative (THI), along with the International Accelerator and the US Embassy in Greece, will support the ”Greek Booth” at SXSW® Interactive for the third consecutive year. The event will take place March 11-15, 2016, in Austin, Texas (USA). The booth will host Greek entrepreneurs representing promising Greek startups. These teams will also participate in a Pitch Competition, presenting their companies in front of investors.

During the past 3 years nearly 60 companies have participated in SXSW with 6 of them alone raising an excess of $20 million.

This year a total of 21 companies will be directly supported by The Hellenic Initiative and an additional 8 by the U.S. Embassy in Greece representing technology and innovation as well as the creative industries.

Connecting entrepreneurs to capital through SXSW® reaffirms THI’s belief that fostering entrepreneurship is key to building a new generation of creative and innovative business that can contribute to Greece’s future prosperity.
