The Story Of Anna Chlioura of Elektronio

The Story Of Anna Chlioura of Elektronio

Anna Chlioura is a co-founder of Elektronio, a mobility solutions startup company based in Thessaloniki.

In 2015, she participated Venture Garden, a comprehensive educational and training program for entrepreneurs funded by THI and administered by Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece and the American College of Thessaloniki member of the Anatolia College.  Anna and her partner, Pantelis Zarkos had just established their company but didn’t have any business academic background so they decided to attend the program in order to gain knowledge and further develop their skills: “The extensive 2-month educational program was a precious guide how to build our first steps and develop further our business plan” explains Anna. She also believes that Venture Garden enhanced her business mentality with new insights, offered networking opportunities and boosted her confidence. While attending the program, the company won two startup contests that were a great boost for Elektronio.

Anna appreciates the fact that as a Venture Garden alumni, Anatolia’s staff stays in touch to offer networking opportunities, media help, and information about workshops and funding opportunities. Elektronio was among the winners of the 2nd Pappajohn Business Plan Contest.

“In my opinion, THI helps young entrepreneurs in Greece in crucial fields such as business knowledge, funding opportunities, event participation and networking with international markets such as USA. I am grateful that I had the chance to take part in one of THI’s programs.”

Elektronio’s first bicycle model “Play” was launched in 2016. Last year they developed a business portfolio with some new exciting electric cargo bicycle models, exclusively for corporate use, such as Pla-e+ & Kouvala-e. Recently, they completed the upgraded edition of Play, Pla-e and a breakthrough add-on, Abl-e that allows people who due to an accident or a health issue, are not able to ride a conventional bicycle.
