The Hellenic Initiative – THI announces a new grant, of $25,000, to the MIT Enterprise Forum Greece.  For a 3rd consecutive year, THI is supporting the Greek chapter of the global MIT Enterprise Forum network in its startup competition which has accelerated 75 Greek startups so far. Targeting the entire Greek Tech Community, MITEF Greece utilizes the MIT brand as well as resources and hands-on experience in technology commercialization in order to help technology entrepreneurs develop their skills and realize their ideas. By bringing together researchers and scientists with investors and entrepreneurs, the competition is a platform for technological innovation and development. Moreover, due to the ties between MITEF Greece and the Greek Diaspora in the USA, the organization acts as a bridge between the contestants and Hellenic expatriates.

Established in 2015, the “MITEF Greece Startup Competition” has been helping Greek startups develop their ideas by providing the participants with the necessary resources and knowledge to excel. Through 32 training workshops and more than 150 hours of teaching, the participants gain valuable business knowledge which can be applied to reinforce their company’s performance. The winners of the competition are nurtured to enter the global marketplace with the skills and resources to compete effectively.  So far, 75 startups have been accelerated by participating in the past 3 cycles with 35 of them having launched services or products that generate revenues.

Entrepreneurs interested in participating in the 4th cycle of the MITEF Greece Startup Competition  can submit their application until the 10th of January 2018.
