The Hellenic Initiative announces a new grant of $240,000 to the ReGeneration Program

For a 4th year, THI recognizes and contributes to the work of the ReGeneration program which has assisted more than 330 young professionals to commence their careers dynamically, developing their skills and empowering them to grow professionally.

The Hellenic Initiative – THI announces a new grant of $ 240,000 to the ReGeneration program. THI supports for yet another year the program that enables young professionals to enhance their skills and kick-start their careers. Till now the program has created over 330 internships working with 110 companies in Greece. In addition, it has offered in total more than 21,400 hours of training.

Powered by the Global Shapers Athens Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, ReGeneration is uniquely equipped to assist young professionals in meeting their potential while staying in the country. Last week saw the first 16 hours of training, offered to applicants of the 5th Cycle.

THI has supported the ReGeneration program since its launch due to its unique offering to the Greek youth, especially at times when the country is faced with staggering unemployment rates. More than 80% of the past participants have renewed their contract beyond the 6-month internship period showing the success in matching young and talented graduates with promising companies. Besides the 6-month paid placement the program offers 56 hours of training and 25 hours of community service as well as mentorship to all interns selected.

Michael Printzos, THI’s Director of Programming, stated “ It is important for all of us at THI to make sure that the Greek youth stays in the country in pursuit of their careers. ReGeneration answers the brain drain problem by offering training, mentorship and internships that in most cases have resulted in full-time jobs. We are very proud to be supporting ReGeneration for yet another year and to be standing side by side with this program since its inception. “

Panos Madamopoulos-Moraris, ReGeneration Co-Founder: We’re excited about the new round of funding and grateful for THI’s ongoing support. Already established as one of the most multi-stakeholder, cross-industry ecosystems, and fastest growing corporate-NGO impact programs in EMEA, ReGeneration is poised to become the premier institution for youth employability and personal and professional development in Greece. The new funding will allow us to significantly increase our impact, by expanding our reach nationwide and solidifying our functional education ventures and curricula.
