A saw provided to the Kalambaki Association in northern Greece enabled the cooperative to increase their production of firewood by 30% within one season. The increased capacity helped grow the co-ops’ profitability and is benefiting the families who participate in the work by providing greater income and more stable revenue.
The initiative is part of International Orthodox Christian Charities on going “Give for Greece” program to provide assistance to co-ops made up of farmers, fisherman, bakers and agricultural product producers who play a pivotal role in revitalizing Greece’s rural communities.
