The Hellenic Entrepreneurship Award was launched in 2012 to help experienced and new entrepreneurs kick-start new business ideas by providing funding, business support and mentoring. Driven by a belief that entrepreneurship is the lifeblood of economic growth, the Libra Group is committing €5,000,000 over ten years to the Hellenic Entrepreneurship Award to enable Greek entrepreneurs to support their communities and drive economic growth. Other supporters within The Hellenic Initiative include the Australia-based property investment and development company, Jalouise Pty Ltd, which has contributed US$500,000 to the award program. The Award seeks to help entrepreneurs break through the economic disadvantages that have plagued Greece and provide the necessary support needed for businesses to flourish again.
Application for the award involves submission of a business plan via the award website – www.hellenicaward.com. A panel of judges will announce between one and five winners annually based on careful scrutiny of the merits of each application. Winning businesses will receive an expert personal mentor and interest-free funding of between €100,000 and €500,000, depending on how many winners are declared. Business support offered to winners includes legal, accounting, communications and IT consultancy services. This program will be self-funded.
